What’s Next?: The LCA CARE Tool

Following extensive research and strategic planning, the LCA CARE project is now progressing to its next critical phase: the development of the LCA CARE tool. This innovative cloud-based application is specifically designed for SMEs in the agri-food sector, providing a structured and accessible approach to sustainability assessments and the development of action plans to reduce environmental impacts.

Advancing Sustainability with a Tailored LCA Tool

The LCA CARE tool will enable SMEs to integrate Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) into their business operations, allowing them to measure, analyse, and improve their environmental performance. The tool has been designed to be user-friendly, data-driven, and tailored to the needs of SMEs, ensuring that sustainability practices are both practical and achievable.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Free access to an advanced sustainability assessment tool
  • Cloud-based platform, providing accessibility and ease of use for SMEs
  • Improved ability to measure and reduce carbon footprint and environmental impacts
  • Data-driven decision-making to support sustainability initiatives and regulatory compliance
  • Structured action plans to guide businesses in adopting eco-efficient practices
  • Comprehensive support materials, making LCA implementation more accessible

By leveraging cloud technology, the LCA CARE tool will offer SMEs a streamlined approach to assessing resource efficiency, emissions, and overall environmental performance. This ensures that sustainability is not just an objective, but an integrated part of business strategy.

Capacity Building for SMEs

To enhance the impact of the LCA CARE tool, the project is also developing a Capacity Building Programme that will provide businesses with the necessary knowledge and skills to implement sustainable practices effectively.
